Editing Skin Tones Like a Pro - in Lightroom Classic with Laura Froese
If I say “skin tones,” do you cringe inside? How much time do you spend second guessing them when editing? Are they too warm? Too cool? Are they consistent? Did I fix all the colour casting? Does she look too washed out? Am I even a real photographer that can charge money for this? Maybe a little dramatic, but I don’t think there’s many other things that make us want to throw our laptop through a window than trying to keep skin realistic, believable, and consistent in our work.
Join Laura Froese, best-selling instructor and co-founder of The Framed Focus, as she teaches you to EDIT BY NUMBER and take the guesswork out of all of this for you in Lightroom Classic. Yes, you do need Lightroom Classic for this course - not Lightroom Creative Cloud - sorry!
In addition to teaching the math behind skin tones, she will also show you her workflow, how to deal with colour casts and shoot in ways to reduce them, how she edits when there are many skin tones in a single image, and just for fun - two FULL edits of the same image done half a decade apart to see how, while editing styles change over time, skin tones can remain true. Also, she has included numerous pages of eye-training exercises for you to practice spotting correct tones, and then revealing the “magical numbers” behind each image that make it what it is.
In this course, you will receive the following:
76-page downloadable PDF
7 Core Videos:
Editing for Darker Skin
Dealing with Colour Casts
Point Colour Tool for Skin
Shooting for Clean Skin
Editing Multiple Skin Tones
Editing Workflow 2019
Editing Workflow 2024
3 Bonus Videos:
Good Enough is Okay
Editing Skin in Backlight Indoors
Edits in Tricky Lighting x3
