Storytelling For The Chaotic Life - with Samantha Deakin
In this course, Sam takes us through her process of creating beautiful lifestyle images, taking us behind the scenes in less than ideal surroundings - cluttered rooms, small spaces, renovation chaos, and busy outdoor areas. She shows us how to use creative thought processes to build a concept from inspiration to fruition. She then explores a variety of techniques and tricks including composition, perspective, light, and editing to manipulate, disguise, and camouflage unsightly or unwanted parts of your images.
This course is for you if:
You often find it difficult to balance “real life” with the finished and polished images you envisage and you would like tips on how to create consistently high quality, print-worthy photographs.
You’d like ideas on how to manipulate the properties of light to your advantage when the circumstances you find yourself in are less than ideal.
You’re a beginner/intermediate photographer looking for an easy to understand and methodical approach to taking lifestyle photographs.
You want to learn how to add some extra magic to your images. Sam will show you how you can make images that are visually compelling with strong storytelling elements.
You fancy having some fun experimenting with different angles and perspectives but don’t know where to start.
You’re keen to explore the elements of a “fake it till you make it” approach and push the boundaries of your creativity.

What people are saying…
“Already obsessed with this course! Loving the video about smoothing the backdrops. I don’t have a clear wall anywhere in my house for photo backdrops. I’ve been using a couple of Kate backdrops, but they always look like what they are… backdrops. Going to go on the hunt for material that I like and use it to DIY a wall! Learning so much! Thank you!” ~ Claire Cook
